Support our work

Accessible counselling

For over 40 years, Arun Counselling Centre has been here for people who need a safe space to talk – regardless of their ability to pay.

What began in 1983 as a small local service offering low-cost counselling has grown into a trusted community organisation providing individual counselling, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), and professional development for counsellors.

Yet our heart remains the same: to make counselling accessible to everyone who needs it.

Why your support matters

Every year, we work with people experiencing grief, loss, anxiety, relationship breakdown, workplace stress, and many other challenges. For some, counselling is a lifeline – but cost can be a barrier.

Together, we can make counselling available to everyone who needs it – not just those who can afford it.

Your support helps us to:

  • Provide low-cost and subsidised counselling for those on limited incomes
  • Maintain a dedicated team of volunteers and counsellors who make our service possible
  • Build a more compassionate community where mental health is valued
  • Provide opportunities for people to cope, heal and progress in their lives
  • Deliver community wellbeing programmes in areas of high deprivation

Make a donation

Every contribution large or small directly supports affordable counselling.

Your generous gift could help fund a counselling session for someone experiencing mental health challenges or help us train a volunteer counsellor to support others.

You can make a one-off donation or a monthly payment.

Donate through your daily shopping

Turn everyday shopping into a free donation for Arun Counselling Centre when you shop online. Over 8,000 retailers will donate, including all the big names like John Lewis, BT, Tesco, Expedia, Argos, ASOS, Just Eat, Uswitch and thousands more!

There’s no extra cost, no hidden charges and no change to your purchase.

Every contribution helps us support more people in the community to move forward in life with accessible, high-quality counselling.

Community Bursaries and Grants

We work closely with local parish councils, community groups, and trusts and foundations to fund bursaries that support our core counselling service.

These bursaries ensure that local residents who can’t afford to pay are still able to access counselling, and that trainee counsellors can complete their professional training with us.

By investing in both clients and counsellors, community bursaries strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of the whole area.

Corporate and Charitable Partnerships

Businesses and charitable foundations play a vital role in sustaining our work.

By funding sessions or sponsoring training, your organisation can make a tangible difference to mental health in the local community – while meeting CSR and ESG goals.

The difference you make

Thank you for supporting Arun Counselling Centre.

Your generosity helps us continue our mission to provide better mental health through  accessible, professional counselling which changes lives and strengthens our community.
